The Bethesda Evetide Homes were founded by Bethesda Baptist Church in 1965 to provide sheltered accomodations for retired Christian people on a self-catering basis.
In 1983 the Homes were extended to provide 4 additional self-catering rooms and a flat for a warden. A part time warden was appointed. Later one of the rooms was coverted into a dining room and midday meals were provided for residents and visitors.
In 1990 the Committee felt led to raise the level of care provided by the Homes and the building was redeveloped and extended to provide for up to 22 residents receiving residential care. Residents homes and communal areas were upgraded at the same time. A full time Manager and full complement of care and support staff were appointed.
In 2010 work was completed on an exciting new development project which included the addition of 6 new resident homes. The lounge and dining room were extended and refurbished and an additional smaller lounge added. the homes services were also extended to be able to provide care for residents living with the early stages of dementia.
