Our Team

Tom Horrex
Manager

Hello I’m Tom, I joined Bethesda Eventide Homes in May 2020. I have been privileged enough to work in care for 13 years and have been working in management roles for 3 years.

I fell in love with care after regularly visiting great grandparents in residential care settings. The love and care that they were shown during their later years are what inspired me to commence work within the sector.

I began working in care as a kitchen assistant and enjoyed the feeling of supporting people daily and helping them live fulfilled lives. This passion led to my desire to progress and in 2018 I completed my Level 5 in Leadership and Management and later became a registered manager of a residential home specialising in dementia care.

I find daily satisfaction in helping others to receive appropriate levels of support whilst maintaining their independence. The last chapter of a book is usually the best, and I feel it is a great privilege to be able to help others to live a fulfilled life and be part of their later years whilst leading the brilliant team here to further develop the already excellent care provided at the home.

Residential Care is such an undervalued area, but I am so proud of the way we can make such a difference to our residents lives, keeping them healthy, active and smiling every day here at Bethesda Eventide Homes.

Hello, I’m Claire, and I joined the team here at Bethesda Eventide Homes in 2019, having worked in care since 1994. Over my 27 years in the care industry, I have worked in a variety of roles including carer, senior carer, administrator and business manager.

I love working at Bethesda Eventide Homes and am especially enjoying my new role as deputy manager. I love the challenge that the job presents, and the fact that each day is different with its own challenges. I enjoy getting to know the residents and staff and being part of the ‘Bethesda’ family.

Karen Bannister
Business Manager

Hello, I am Karen and I joined Bethesda Eventide Homes in 2017 as Business Manager.

I have more than 30 years’ experience in business; both running my own companies and those belonging to others. I have worked for both large organisations and independent businesses and I am experienced in Finance, HR, Facilities, Compliance and all types of administration. My role here is to manage all of these administrative and financial functions and put plans in place to safeguard Bethesda’s future – allowing the Homes Manager to effectively manage and oversee the continued improvement of the already lovely Bethesda Eventide Homes and the care of the residents.

In the time that I have been here I have been extremely impressed with the level of care and respect given to the residents by all involved with their care and I am very pleased to be able to assist and be part of Bethesda’s future.

Hi, I’m Yvonne. I’ve worked in caring for older people for 16 years, 12 of them at Bethesda Eventide Homes.

I have been in my present role for 4 years. As co-ordinator, I realise that all staff are involved in activities through their daily routines and conversations with residents.

I really enjoy time spent with residents, both in activities and conversation, and my planning is person centred. I know that 1:1 time with residents is important, and I like to take time discussing their individual histories and interests as well as organising group activities.
